Some of the acting is still kind of so so, but the storylines are engaging.

Damn it, now I have to see it out.Justin Bowerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11918590992060850747noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8582135556239397600.post-27824042255526534682011-01-24T17:12:20.589-08:002011-01-24T17:12:20.589-08:00Great stuff. I look forward to checking out Survivor.

"Like Sufjan got drunk and made an album with Animal Collective, and then they never bothered to edit the raw tracks" Hilarious

BSG does get better...and worse. Its great advantage is its themes (which do not really pay off) and its mercilesness with its charecters (a page from Joss' playbook) which means that after you have lost enough people, situations starte taking on actual narative tension. It might suffer from being so much better than we expected, but by the time you got to it it had to be more than just "better than a 70's remake should be." With that said, the camera work and sets alone make it better than post TNG Star Trek.

Finally, we agree. Can we just get Tom Hanks to declare, "There is no crying in vamparism." They are predators, a trophic level above us. That is what makes them interesting. They invert our position from predators to prey and allow us to investigate human weakness (and obliterate humanoid beings without invoking our concience).

Footnote :)
Have you seen this. It is my favorite zombie work despite its fragmentary nature: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZgfxrvC6rostanfordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07591716618038804118noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8582135556239397600.post-38180023599194570942011-01-24T16:43:54.058-08:002011-01-24T16:43:54.058-08:00This post needs more footnotes.
Seriously, though...This post needs more footnotes.

Seriously, though, as much as I love "Glee", the characters are wildly inconsistent from episode to episode. That's actually part of why I love it. This week I might feel bad for Rachel, or I might like her, or I might wish she was dead!
